Asparagus! (A Stalk-umentary)

Perhaps this isn't fashionable or vintage inspired...but local farmers are a dying breed. Watch:

Just saw this on PBS, Michigan asparagus farmers battling big box stores, the U.S. War on Drugs and Free Trade.
Perhaps you may want to buy local produce?
Even if they are from farms that are a distance away from you, (some people resist buying from local farmers that live to far away, citing fuel emissions and such...a belief that i can't quite understand.)

Check out the official site: Asparagus the Movie

My all time favorite dame: Daphne Guinness. I first saw her in an editorial featuring Christian Lacroix, she was wearing wide legged trousers (WHITE) a nautical, blue and white, stripe top, red espadrilles and red lipstick. i believe she was still married at the time and while she had a more rounded youthful look, she stood out in the sea of fashionista's, looking very chic, glamorous and yet as if she just threw everything on quickly. ( if I remember correctly they were all on Christian's boat...how drool!!!!)

Dita Von Teese

I am a HUGE fan of Dita's from waaay back. It doesn't hurt that she is a Michigan gal who re-invented herself via a box of Revlon hair color, name change and red lips!!!!!!!
Viva la Dita

I love her in green! J'adore!

Goodies...from Goodie Magazine

Current issue; hattie Hathaway

A new obsession of ours: Goodie Magazine. "From a Times Square building in late 1999, Foxy Kidd and Romy Ashby started making Goodie Magazine to celebrate authenticity and originality in whatever manifestation those qualities appear. It remains a small, handmade publication dedicated to preserving an endangered history through the stories of its subjects, and it is produced entirely on money it earns for itself."
Romy and Foxy...The Goodie Godesses!!

Seriously, one of the best art/culture zines we have ever had the pleasure of getting our hands on. For only five bucks you can instantly up your cool factor. We felt like we were actually part of the interview...much like late nite eavesdropping on the next tables uber delicious conversation.
