Daphne Guinness

Comme des Garcons + Daphne Guinness are debuting her new fragrance in September.
I personally adore Daphne, her sense of style, the black and white palette, her hair everything about her screams "eccentric" to me.
love it!

okinawa

Last summer the greek and I were able to spend a few weeks in Okinawa. To say that the expereince was life changing is an understatement.
This summer we are going back and, god help us, bringing our children. Yes we are bringing our 2 children who cannot stand traditional Japanese food.
At all.
Not even a little.

The food pictures are obviously the before and after pictures of the most incredible meal of my life.
It was at an air-port!!!!
We killed that platter in about 5 mins flat.
The picture of the tomb...I was fascinated with the burial places in Japan. Mostly because my grandfather was stationed in Okinawa during the war. He was also on his own last journey and each day left me wondering is the day he will pass?? Ironically he died a week after we came back.
I will never forget the smell of the earth, trees, incense in the burial mountains. If there is a perfume that captures that scent, I want it.
Okinawa is the most beautiful and friendly place I have ever visited. My soul is always there.

So Charmed!

This morning I spent a ton of time uploading new items, fixing old items and chasing my dogs, who happened to be busy chasing the various wildlife that are in our backyard, (crickets, frogs, geese, ducks, the drunk guy next store....) when I remembered that my blinking gif was due to be on Bust magazines website any second.
After hitting the refresh button for like a million times I found it, but only after I found this amazing site first. So Charmed. You BET! At first I thought: Oh, hell yeah, I can make those. But on closer inspection I soon realised that I would sooner learn Chinese than make such intricate, ethereal jewery like Jodi. Plus her site is like a breath of fresh air, it's funny, it's dreamy and it has necklaces that say: "Bite ME!" Whats not to love?????

I sooo want a custom bracelet for Christmas!

Yves Saint Laurent Dies

PARIS–Legendary designer Yves Saint Laurent, who reworked the rules of fashion by putting women into elegant pantsuits that came to define how modern women dressed, died Sunday evening, a longtime friend and associate said. He was 71.

Pierre Berge did not give details but said Saint Laurent had died following a long illness.

A towering figure of 20th century fashion, Saint Laurent was widely considered the last of a generation that included Christian Dior and Coco Chanel and made Paris the fashion capital of the world, with the Rive Gauche, or Left Bank, as its elegant headquarters.

In the fast-changing world of haute couture, Saint Laurent was hailed as the most influential and enduring designer of his time. From the first YSL tuxedo and his trim pantsuits to see-through blouses, safari jackets and glamorous gowns, Saint Laurent created instant classics that remain stylish decades later.

When the designer announced his retirement in 2002 at age 65 and the closure of the Paris-based haute couture house he had founded 40 years earlier, it was mourned in the fashion world as the end of an era. His ready-to-wear label, Rive Gauche, which was sold to Gucci in 1999, still has boutiques around the world.

In October 2006, Saint Laurent slipped and fell outside a Paris restaurant during Fashion Week, suffering slight scratches but reminding fans of the perennially fragile designer's advancing age.
