A life...get one, really, its a great thing to have.

I was really amused when someone left a rude comment on this blog because I complimented some one's writing they obviously did not like. The question is: if they dislike this person's blog so much, why do they read it?
And leave comments on other sites who do like it??
Boredom?
Lack of "a life"?
I write about perfume, vintage clothes and other frivolous things. Its cupcake stuff compared to other things you can read. Or write about.
Usually when I send a rant, its about issues I feel that are important.
Things like, education, child safety laws or whether Miss Piggy and Kermit were an item or not.
But that's just me...

Vintage Frocks..

We are starting to finalise things for our site!!!! My partner, the Greek, has informed me that anything else I buy must be packed away...until items start selling.
That's when I found the NWT Carmen Marc Valvo sequined dress and matching bolero.
HA!
Although it's hard when you are constantly buying, everything you purchase is the next "best".

Bonadrag

How in the hell is it possible to be this sick, again??? My throat is full of razor blades and shards of glass, thank-you very much.
On a brighter note I wanted to share this store with you: Bonadrag I found it via Showpony's blog, which I am not ashamed to say I stalk like no ones business. Anyhow, Bonadrag has some of the most unusual pieces of clothing and jewelry. Its like walking in your younger, hipper sister's closet. There is an eclectic mix of vintage and indie designer goods. Oh! the name comes from a secret gay language popular in the 1960's with bonadrag meaning: "nice outfit" Stellar.

Last words. Scent reminders

I first saw the image of Nancy Cunard in my "In Vogue, Sixty Years of Celebrities and Fashon from British Vogue." book that "the Greek" gave to me. I love the caption that read: "She rimmed er eyes with kohl and wore African bangles to the elbows."
Put that on my tombstone, won't you?

I just recieved a vintage bottle of nuit de noel. The sent is heavier, thicker and more golden than the new bottle I ordered after finding that fateful carafe of bath oil. The oil that started all this madness. I have to say that when I inhaled the aroma from the box it reminded me of my grandmother with such amazing certainty...it took my breath away.
I am in love.
Again.
Alexander Vertinsky was just as enamored:
I'm dispatching a letter again slightly touching with kisses its pages.
And releasing your evil perfume, toxic air I gladly inhale.
Then it calls me to clearly see birds abandoning love through the ages.
Black and slender, they fly southward, from the flask of «Nuit de Noel».

Spring is coming apace, and Venetian young violinists
Will sing out your grief, dance away your despair and gloom.
Then blue faults will be easy to pass and our sins will be light and diminish.
Do not spare your kiss in spring season when almond trees break into bloom.

Don't be missing me long, my friend. I'm a gloomy and frozen creature,
At command of my rigorous master I'm dancing and tending to weep
While withdrawing your tickets of fortune, I am seeing your hopeless features
And to tedious moans of an organ I am helplessly falling asleep.

Here comes fair spring. Soon the frozen slush will be drying,
And primroses, violets, dreams will be blooming afield.
But we can't come to spring just by songs, and we can't come to spring just by crying.
With the organ we got careworn and already despairingly ill.

I am sending a letter again slightly touching with kisses its pages.
Don't be sad for the dismal finale and for poisoned words that I tell.
It's your evil perfume and my thoughts, black as birds leaving love through the ages.
From the bottle they fly southward, from the scent of «Nuit de Noel».

Perfume, Artists, Candy and Renee Perle

Yikes, sick children equals one sick momma! Haven't updated due to all this streep bacteria, play-dates and school functions. The public school my children now attend is amazing. After years of private school shopping I found our answer 3 minutes away.
Halloween was a blast, tons of candy for ...ME! It lead me to consider candies of years past. I quickly found the Victory Candy Store to be my favorite informational site.
Lots of MYSPACE cruising has lead me to a very inspiring duo.
First, Renée Perle , a absolute gem of information about French photographer Jacques Henri Lartigue's gorgeous girlfriend. Better than wikipedia!

Secondly, the artist Tonina from Berlin. Truely one of the most brilliant artists I have seen on myspace in awhile.

I also have been honing my addiction for Noel de Nuit, since I discovered an old bottle of this Caron fragrance at an unusual estate sale.

From Fashion-era.com: "Nuit de Noel is perfect for December days of celebration. It is floral woody and spicy. Deeply complex, it has a sophisticated chypre note."

fROM PERFUMESHRINE:
Available in : Extract, Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette
Amber floral woody. Rich and voluptuous.
Rose, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, Saxon Moss, Musk, Sandalwood, Saxon Moss

In 1922, after the shock of the First World War, Europe was caught up in partying and escapades. Product of the roaring twenties Nuit de Noλl conveys by name the magic of a special evening.
The bottle is designed in pure 20's style, fashioned in totally opaque black glass in accordance to the mystery of that enchanting night. The gold band recalls to mind the headbands flappers used to wear.
A sophisticated composition with an oriental character mingles rose, ylang-ylang, precious woods, and Saxon moss.
This perfume is dedicated to the sophisticated, mysterious woman who carries with her the irresistible allure and magic of a Christmas Night
Bottle designer(s): Felicie Vanpouille / Francoise Bergaud

I am just finishing my tutorial of html so that I may upload my vintage frocks this week-end. Keep your fingers crossed as I may have the site up by late next week.
